As the Veil Thins: Embracing the Sacred Season of Birth
Have you ever heard the phrase, “The veil is thinning” as you approach your birthing time? This sacred season is a time when the boundary between the physical and spiritual realms feels especially thin. It’s an invitation to step into a deeply holy space, but it also comes with vulnerability to spiritual warfare.
In this tender time, I want to encourage you to fight your battles with prayer, worship, and the living Word of God. These spiritual tools will anchor you, protect you, and guide you as you prepare to meet your little one.
Letting Go of Worry
Matthew 6:25-34 gently reminds us to release our worries and surrender them to the One who holds our future. As Jesus said, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself” (v.34). Instead of dwelling on fear or doubt, meditate on His promises. Rest in His truth and let it strengthen you in this transformative season.
If you wouldn’t take advice from someone, why let their opinions or words weigh on you? Hand it all over to God. Seek His voice above all else, and trust that He is leading you in love and wisdom.
Scriptures to Anchor Your Heart
Here are some powerful verses to carry you through this season of anticipation and trust:
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
Trust that He sees your heart and lovingly bears your burdens.“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called.” – 1 Timothy 6:12
Step boldly into your calling as a mother, armed with faith and courage.“Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.” – Psalm 37:8-9
Surrender your fears and frustrations to Him, trusting that His justice and peace will prevail.
A Lesson from the Wildflowers
Take a moment to marvel at the wildflowers. They do not labor or spin, yet God clothes them in unmatched splendor. If He cares so tenderly for the flowers, how much more will He care for you, His beloved child?
Even in situations that seem impossible, He is at work. He uses every detail for His purposes, weaving beauty out of what may feel broken or uncertain.
Leaning into His Presence
As the veil thins, lean into the presence of the Lord. Run to Him with your hopes, fears, and every detail of your heart. Seek Him first and make space for worship and prayer. These will be your strongest armor as you prepare for birth.
Let His peace cover you like a warm blanket, and let His Word guide you like a lamp in the night. He is with you, lovingly holding you in this sacred season.
